View Judge Volunteer Information
Thanks to all of the Mock Trial volunteers for being
an integral part of the team that provided a fun, learning
experience for students from all over the world!
We have received numerous complements on the good-natured
volunteers who were always willing to help.
Delaware hosted the 2008 National High School Mock Trial
Championship in the City of Wilmington, May 8 - 11,
2008.
Over 125 Courthouse and Event
Volunteers assisted with registration, pin exchange,
courtroom oversight, M.V. Twin Capes Dinner Cruise,
Awards Banquet, the Dance, and all phases of the 2008
National Mock Trial Championship.
Attorneys and judiciary experienced in judging high
school mock trial at the state level served as Judge
Volunteers for the 2008 National Championship.
Courthouse Volunteers
Courthouse Volunteers served as courtroom liaisons.
They assured that:
Courtrooms are ready for each round
Judges have the materials they need
Water is provided at counsel tables
Alert National Board Member or local contacts to problems
Collect Score sheets and timekeeping forms after the
trial
Deliver information to the scoring room
Direct teams and others to their assigned courtrooms
Serve as greeters at the courthouse
Assist all participants and observers to find courtrooms**
Help enforce the NO Food, Drink or Gum Rules in the
courtroom
**Twenty-two or more trials will
be in progress simultaneously; directing and escorting
participants quickly to the courtrooms will be of the
utmost importance.

that attended the National Championship.

Over 300 experienced judge volunteers
signed up to judge the 2008 National High School Mock
Trial Championship, the Championship's 25th Anniversary.
