Violations of the Code
of Ethical Conduct for the Delaware 2008 National High
School Mock Trial Championship by any team member may result
in sanctions, including but not limited to, the team's immediate
eviction from the championship and forfeiture of all fees
and awards (if applicable).

The use of alcohol, drugs, and weapons is forbidden in the
course of this Championship, both at the competition site
and at all mock trial sponsored events.
Displays of bad sportsmanship at any time during the championship,
including the Awards Banquet and Dance, are prohibited.
Whether winning or losing, team members are expected to
be gracious and supportive of other teams.
No official team member or observer is allowed to enter
any courtroom in which his or her team is not competing.
Team members and observers must follow appropriate courtroom
decorum at all times in the New Castle County Courthouse
building and must be careful to not disturb any item in
the courtrooms.
The Rules of Competition, as well
as proper rules of courthouse and courtroom decorum and
security, will be followed. The National Board possesses
discretion to impose sanctions, up to and including forfeiture
or disqualification ,for any misconduct occurring while
a team is present for the National Championship.
The National Mock Trial Championship is designed for students
who comport themselves as professionals in and out of the
courtroom. It is expected that at the courthouse, the hotel,
and event venues, students will respect their surroundings,
use receptacles for all trash, leave restrooms and all other
court and common areas of the hotel in good order; and otherwise
behave as young professionals.
